BD collects information by various methods including information actively provided by its customers, by its customers’ employees, and information provided by sellers of BD services, and information arising from the provision of its services. The types of personal information we collect include name, contact information, identification information, credit information, and information relevant to the administration of benefit plans, such as date of birth, occupation, earnings, marital/family status, dependent information, medical information related to open claims, banking information on behalf of providers, and beneficiary designations. We may record calls to or from our customer service representatives for purposes of accuracy, performance reviews and training.
How We Use This Information
This information is used for providing BD’s services including plan quoting, plan set-up and implementation, plan administration, customer service, accounting, billing, and collections. BD may use aggregate or anonymous information which will not be linked to identified individuals for various other uses for itself and third parties.
Who We Share This Information With
BD does not share personal information with any third parties except as disclosed in this policy. BD may provide personal information to BD’s consultants, insurers, benefit providers, potential benefit providers, subcontractors and professional advisers (which shall be bound by privacy obligations) to assist BD’s uses disclosed herein.
Personal information is stored in a combination of paper and electronic files. They are protected by security measures appropriate to the nature of the information.
Individuals may review their personal information contained in BD files by contacting the BD privacy officer. If an individual believes that any of their personal information is inaccurate, we will make appropriate corrections.
